Analysis:
Expected. I expected this considering how bad both the teaser and trailer were for this film. I still question why did Ravi Teja have to choose Ramesh Varma as his director. Before Khiladi was announced as a project, Ravi Teja worked with Ramesh Varma on Veera which was one of the worst films in Ravi Teja's career. Still, Ravi Teja chose Ramesh Varma for this project but I have to say it is one of the worst decisions taken in terms of his career. Ravi Teja previously to this film came out with Krack and that was one of the best mass movies that TFI produced in the last 5 years. This movie when watching is comparable to Amar Akbar Anthony. The movie starts off on a decent note, to say the least, but it quickly moves to really bad written comedy and a lackluster romantic track that at this point we have seen present in 90% of Ravi Teja's film. We at least expect good acting and comedic timing from Ravi Teja here but it is just overloaded with overacting, to say the least. The first half just goes in this pace and the songs are all bad except for Full Kick. However, the last 20 minutes of the first half I say is probably the best-written part of this film. The way the twist works in this part along with the fight scene and the background score is just a visual treat for Ravi Teja fans and it works out well to an extent.
Even after this, the second half fails to impress. Here we are really taken into the life of Mohan Gandhi and who he really is and how he came across this entire scam. In this portion, the songs fail to impress big time and the writing is so bad along with the screenplay it makes you want to get up and just leave the theater. The only saving grace even for the second half of this film is the action sequences and the 2 really major twists presented in the second half. Even then the other twists that we see in this half are just extremely underwhelming and this movie is loaded with them for no reason. Every 10 minutes we are introduced to a new aspect of the film which just makes you get more and more frustrated. However, in this second half, the emotions between Ravi Teja and the little girl work out really well to an extent and the movie ends off on a decent note
The music department is really weak in this film and it is very apparent since DSP himself admitted that he only spent 30 minutes on the music in this film. However, the background score was done well and the cinematography by Sujith and GK is pretty good. The art department also did really well in this film and that is about it.
Overall, if I was you I would skip this film in theaters and just wait for the OTT release of this film. Even then, I would not recommend this movie to anyone personally.
