Analysis:

The director of this film, Sriram Adittya, is known for films such as Bhale Manchi Roju and Devadas that are rich in comedy but lack a proper story to go along with the comedy. The same exact happens here in this film. Hero has probably the best comedy out of the Telugu movies that have come out in recent times, but the story is very lackluster for this film. The first half of the film starts off with a really well-crafted introduction to the newcomer Ashok Galla who is the nephew of Mahesh Babu. Ashok throughout this film shows flashes of his potential with his actions during the comedic portions of this film. However, throughout this film, his acting can be very lackluster to a normal movie watcher. Stale expressions and not showing a lot of acting is very common in debut films. On the other hand, the heroine, Niddhi Agerwal, gets the same old boring role that she has had for almost every one of her films in this industry. On the other hand, Satya, Naresh, and Jagapathi Babu do well in the roles they are given. The first half goes in a breeze with the comedy timing but other than that there is nothing really notable with this first half. The interval portion of this film was decently made. Now here comes the real downsides, the film falls off as soon as the first half ends. The second half is just loaded with too many lag scenes and at this rate, the film almost has no story. The only real saving grace of this second half was the Jagapathi Babu twist that was revealed which shows us why the conflict is really there in the film. After that, the climax was really underwhelming with an overload of comedy in the climax using that a way to fix the conflict instead of another way which would have made this film better in my opinion. None of the other characters in this film were used well at all. Almost all of the other characters apart from the main cast are half baked and almost have no scope for the characters leaving the audience to ask "Why are these characters even present in this film ?" Ghibran's background score is ok but this film really needs it and other than that there is nothing more going on for this film. Overall, if you feel like you just need to go to a movie that you don't really need to pay that much attention to, then you can go see Hero as it is a one-time watch for most people.
